Children 0-3

We have paid nursery staff who provide care during the 10:00 a.m. service on Sundays. Parent’s are given a Nursery beeper (it vibrates!) to take with them to worship so they can be easily reached if a child needs attention.

Children Ages 3-12

®

Godly Play® is spoken here during the 10:00 worship service for children ages 3-11. Godly Play is a multi-sensory approach to telling Bible stories with three-dimensional materials. In an environment of reverence and awe, children are encouraged to experience and explore the mystery of God’s presence as they encounter God’s word. Each Bible story is followed by a series of “wondering” questions which allow children to enter into the story by connecting biblical narrative with personal experience. The children then respond on an individual basis by working with art materials or by retelling the story themselves. Children join their parents for communion each Sunday.

Our volunteer teachers are trained by Co-Rector and Godly Play® Teacher Trainer, the Rev. Cheryl V. Minor. In addition a number of them have become Accredited Godly Play® Teachers by attending an 18 hour training event.  All Saints’ is known for its beautiful classrooms and often hosts visitors and training events.

Godly Play® In Action

Father and Children’s Group

On the first Sunday of every month fathers and children of all ages meet for lunch, learning, and fun after the 10:00 a.m. worship service. A variety of creative activities each month include storytelling, role-playing, games, arts and crafts and music.  Children and fathers meet in the Bramhall Room, while field outings are scheduled as weather permits.  The events are scheduled for around 90 minutes, and include refreshments for all participants. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to spend quality time with their father and friends. Everyone is welcome!
